Report Class 25-02-09.

Last class we saw how to export our files. When we already have our volume or model and we want to export it in order to 3D printers, there are to ways to export it.
First you select you model and click “file”-“export”-“ estereolitography”- “Preview” and you model is formed in a triangle way. Then in “options” you can determine the mesh-“refined mesh”- “binary”-and “accept”
The other way is to select the model, write “convert to mesh”, speblish the number of polygons (medium) and “accept”.
Then we learn to validate our model using VisCam, located in Marcam Engineering. This program helps to prepare our files in STL for rapid prototypes.
After saving your files, you open it in this program and check if it has unmatched edges. If you have it you can’t print it. It is important to know that the tolerance of holes and edges is prox 20. But for CNC this tolerance is not so important because it just work with surfaces.
Then, by using another program named MODELA player 4 you can print in 3D.
First you have to be sure that the Roland 650 is connected. Open you file that is already is STL file. Then you have:
To select the material where you are going to print
To configure the model
To verify the scale and units
To select the origin of the model where is going to start (at the middle)
To select how the machine will work (this machine work with 4 axes) *it can turn the object backward
To choose your tolerances
Then the printing is taken in 4 stages. Each time you establish a stage you have to click on “new process”. You can determine the tool that will be use, the depth, and all the aspects that are important in order to accomplish the print in the best way.
